The purpose of this project was to create a digital or traditional botanical plate including five elements of a botanical specimen. The artist visited the Iowa State Green House to choose a botanical species to focus on and to sketch from direct observation. While there, the artist decided to depict the pokeweed plant because of its unique coloration and poisonous nature.
